braving the Decision to close some doors

Sometimes doors close on us because there is a better door waiting to be opened. What if there’s already an open door for us but requires closing others to fully pursue it? Would we have the courage to make that choice?

This dilemma often arises in life, presenting itself as a test of our commitment to new beginnings and our willingness to let go of the familiar. It’s a leap of faith, a step into the unknown, where the promise of growth and fulfillment beckons. But with it comes the bittersweet necessity of leaving behind paths that once felt secure. While it may be difficult to say goodbye to the past, and it really is, each closed door signifies a new chapter beginning in our lives. It is a chance to rewrite our story, redefine our goals, and pursue our dreams with renewed determination. It is also a chance to better understand ourselves, or better appreciate the calling He has for us this season. Remember that closing doors is not about giving up or admitting defeat; rather, it is about having the courage to take a bold step towards personal growth and self-discovery. It is a declaration of our readiness to embrace the unknown and face whatever challenges may come our way. Seizing such a chance demands self-reflection and courage. It involves believing in our capabilities and the journey ahead, even when the destination is not completely clear.

Remember that closing doors is not about giving up or admitting defeat; rather, it is about having the courage to take a bold step towards personal growth and self-discovery.

At times we get so stubborn and we keep on holding on for as long as we can to stay in the hills (or even valleys) we are in, in the relationships we are in, in the work we are in, etc. But I hope that we won’t hold onto it for long, and accept the truth and move on. And as we brave the decision to close some doors in our lives, may we be reminded that the doors we choose to close do not signify failure or abandonment. Instead, they mark the end of chapters that have prepared us for this very moment. They are the stepping stones that have led us to the threshold of new possibilities. By closing them with gratitude and grace, we honor our past and make room for the exciting adventures that lie ahead. Reflecting on our past with gratitude can also help us appreciate the journey we have traveled and the strength we have gained along the way. And showing grace towards our past helps us release any lingering negativity or regrets, freeing up space in our hearts and minds as we set sail on the next chapter.

And as we brave the decision to close some doors in our lives, may we be reminded that the doors we choose to close do not signify failure or abandonment. Instead, they mark the end of chapters that have prepared us for this very moment.

With these reflections penned down in this entry, let’s commit to fully embracing the new seasons presented to us by turning the previous chapters of our lives with gratitude and grace. Remember that God is with us in this moment, the very moment we are making this decision, as He is along the way we journey this life story He has written for us.
